Victoria Highland Games
The 147th annual Victoria Highland Games is a must on the Celtic calendar! It is held the May long weekend (Queen Victoria Day) on the Saturday and Sunday. This year again, for the second time in consecutive years---features the World Heavy Events Championship--where all the Scottish Hee-men toss cabers and toss hammers--an event rarely held outside of Scotland.
Piping, Drumming, Bands, Highland Dancing, a great beer tent and numerous colourful vendors are a part of this event in downtown Victoria's beautiful Topaz Park. If all that were not enough, the ceilidh tent features great Celtic artists all day Saturday and Sunday--including CeltFest Vancouver Island talent and also the Glengarry Dancers & the O'Brien School of Irish Dance (4:00 to 5:00 Saturday)
