Back by popular demand, Canada's first family of Celtic music will visit Vancouver Island to conclude the 10th Anniversary celebrations of CeltFest Vancouver Island’s Coast-to-Coast-to-Coast Celtic Celebration with this incredible musical and dance event.
Steeped in Cape Breton tradition with strong Celtic roots and musical artistry, this diverse and talented family group of six siblings sells out shows around the world, and is widely regarded as one of the greatest live concert acts in the Celtic world. Their captivating vocals, harmonies and extraordinary musicianship were featured in the one-hour Christmas TV special, recorded in 2000, which continues to be be broadcast on CMT and PBS TV stations. 2007 saw the broadcast of a new Christmas special, which will no doubt also become a part of the holiday season for years to come.
Also featured on the program will be Vancouver Island CeltFest favourites master piper René Cusson and dancers from the sister schools of the Glengarry Highland and O’Brien Irish schools of Dance. Featuring a skillfully performed collection of seasonal favourites--and so much more-- this concert is sure to be a hit with your family or work group. The Barra MacNeils' Christmas is a perfect end to the 10th season of CeltFest Vancouver Island's concerts and summer school.
